Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Discover Brief operates the website discover.localhindi.in. Privacy and data-rights questions may be sent to contact@localhindi.in.
2. Scope
This policy describes information processed when you browse the site, view advertising, or contact us by email. The public site does not currently offer visitor accounts, public comments, purchases, or a working contact-form submission service.
3. Information processed
- IP address and device identifiers: hosting, security, analytics, Google Ad Manager, and authorized advertising technology providers may process your IP address, browser and device type, device identifiers, requested URL, referring page, timestamps, ad interactions, and diagnostic or security events.
- Precise and approximate location data: analytics and advertising providers may infer approximate location from IP address. Where configured and lawfully permitted, precise location data, including latitude/longitude supplied by a device or browser or zip-code/neighborhood-level location used for local advertising, may be processed only with applicable consent.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics may process page views, scroll activity, outbound-link interactions, referring pages, browser and device information, approximate location, and related measurement data. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or other directly identifying form data to Google Analytics.
- Meta Pixel data: The Meta Pixel may process page visits, page URLs, referring pages, browser and device information, IP-derived location, cookie identifiers, and advertising interactions to measure campaigns and support audience features.
- Advertising and consent data: where advertising is enabled, Google and approved advertising partners may process cookies, local-storage data, full unmasked IP addresses, device identifiers, ad interactions, consent signals, and similar data for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, frequency control, attribution, and where permitted, personalization.
- Messages you send: if you email us, we process the address, message, and any information you choose to include so we can respond and maintain necessary records.
4. Processing of granular technical data (IP addresses)
To facilitate a secure and high-performance advertising environment, we and our authorized advertising technology partners, including Google Ad Manager and its bidding partners, collect and process the full, unmasked Internet Protocol (IP) address of your device.
Purposes of processing:
- Security and fraud prevention: the full IP address may be used to identify and mitigate sophisticated invalid traffic, including botnets, click farms, non-human engagement, and other abuse.
- Precise geolocation: the full IP address may be processed to determine precise location, typically at the neighborhood or zip-code level, to serve relevant local content and advertisements where applicable law and consent choices permit it.
- Ad delivery and attribution: the full IP address may be used to help avoid showing the same advertisement excessively, support frequency capping, measure whether an ad led to a specific action, and report ad performance.
Legal basis for EEA, UK, and Switzerland visitors: security and fraud prevention may be processed based on legitimate interests, including IAB TCF Special Purpose 2 for security, fraud detection, and debugging. Precise geolocation and ad personalization are processed only where you have provided explicit consent through the consent management platform, including IAB TCF Feature 3 where applicable.
Data sharing and recipients: your full IP address may be shared in real time with authorized third-party vendors through the ad-bidding process, including ad technology providers and demand-side platforms. These vendors are prohibited from using the data for purposes other than those disclosed here. The full vendor list is available in the consent management platform when required.
5. Analytics, Meta Pixel, and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, including page views, scrolling, navigation, and outbound-link activity. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies where permitted by applicable law and the visitor's consent choices. Learn how Google processes information from sites using its services at Google's partner-sites information page.
We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms to record page-view events, measure advertising performance, and support advertising-audience features. Meta may receive the page URL, referring page, browser and device information, IP address, and cookie or advertising identifiers. Meta describes its processing and available controls in the Meta Privacy Policy.
We use Google Ad Manager and Google Publisher Tag to deliver and measure programmatic advertising. Google and participating advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver ads, prevent invalid traffic, control frequency, measure performance, and—where permitted—personalize advertising.
Learn how Google uses information from partner sites at Google’s partner-sites information page. Users can manage Google ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and can learn about additional industry opt-outs at YourAdChoices.
The advertising providers available to a particular visitor are identified in the consent or privacy-choice interface when required. Those providers may have their own privacy policies and opt-out mechanisms.
6. Why information is processed
Information may be processed to deliver and secure the site, remember privacy choices, respond to messages, prevent invalid traffic and abuse, measure site and ad performance, provide interest-based or personalized advertising where permitted, comply with law, establish or defend legal claims, and fund publication through advertising. Where applicable law requires consent for cookies, local storage, precise geolocation, or personalized advertising, those activities should be based on the choices collected through the consent management platform.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
You can delete or restrict cookies through your browser's privacy controls, manage Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings, and review participating-company opt-outs through YourAdChoices. Where a Google consent message is displayed, use the Privacy Settings or Cookie Settings link on this website to withdraw or change consent choices for precise tracking and related advertising purposes.
Residents of jurisdictions with applicable privacy rights may request access, correction, deletion, or other action by emailing contact@localhindi.in. Some US state laws treat certain personalized-ad disclosures as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; eligible visitors may use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link to opt out of applicable sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising uses.
California and other eligible US residents may limit the use of sensitive personal information, including precise geolocation where applicable, by using the Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information link. Global users may also email us with privacy requests or concerns.
8. Retention, recipients, and international processing
Service providers receive data only as needed for hosting, security, analytics, advertising, consent management, communications, or legal compliance. Google and other providers may process information in countries different from yours under their own legal safeguards. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, and fraud prevention. Advertising logs and IP addresses used for advertising purposes are typically anonymized or deleted by advertising partners within 9 to 18 months, depending on the provider, industry standards, and Google's retention policies. Provider-controlled retention periods are described in their policies and in the consent interface where available.
9. Consent management records
Where Google Funding Choices or another Google-certified consent management platform is used, the configuration should keep active the signals needed for IAB TCF Special Purpose 2, covering security, fraud detection, and debugging, and IAB TCF Feature 3, covering use of precise geolocation data. The consent interface identifies applicable vendors and records the choices communicated to participating advertising systems.
10. Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, but no Internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. This general-audience site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information.
11. External links
Articles may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are controlled by those third parties, not by Discover Brief.
12. Changes and contact
We may revise this policy as the site, advertising partners, or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date identifies the current version. Questions and requests may be sent to contact@localhindi.in.
